NYC: Food - Why not, but why?

This city is all about hype, and we all know how much I love hype. Luckily I didn't really find much to hate here in New York. Just some places that I think are probably over-hyped and really not worth all of the fuss.

Bark Hot Dogs, Park Slope | Wow, so overrated. This place is getting rave reviews from nearly all the local dailies and weeklies, but it's just a 5 dollar hot dog with too much skin-crunch and mediocre toppings.

The Kati Roll Company, West Village | Okay, Busayo, you'll hate me, but while the food is fine, I'm not sure how this is better than going somewhere and ordering Tikka Chicken and some roti. Just because it's served as a wrap doesn't make it special! To top it off... $8.50 for two? Really?

and... a step below the two restaurants above....

EAT Authentic Thai, Upper East Side | I wasn't even going to include this until I realized some people on Yelp! are actually saying this place is good. I have nothing against the service, the prices are pretty cheap by Manhattan standards, and I only had two dishes - but woah, NOTHING to write home about. In fact, the Pad Thai was actually not enjoyable... lots of flavor, but a weird uber-sweet overpowering flavor that got almost uncomfortable before I even got halfway through.
