Came upon this via movabletype.org. It seems that a sequel to Being John Malkovich is coming out and there's a weblog about it. Have you seen it? It's great and this is the type of movie that could use a follow-up. I loved the first thing I read from the weblog:
regarding: Adaptation weblog - about a movie by Spike Jonze based on The Orchid Thief by Susan OrleanNov 26 02. The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and how it relates to reporting:
The NY Daily News has an interview with Susan, who seems to be getting the lion's share of the press accompanying the movie (which is understandable because she has a fairly unique role in it all). In yet another of the many parallels between the movie and the book, Susan says:
"The notion that objectivity exists is, in and of itself, a flimsy construct. The kind of reporting I do is affected by the fact that it's being reported. And you do develop a connection with people that you write about."How could Kaufman not write himself into the movie?

Wow, Teddy, been really busy I see.
I saw the website for Adaptation, or rather the authors website who wrote The Orchid Thief when I went to moveabletype.org a couple of weeks ago. Everyone seems excited to see it, but I really don't have any desire at all. Is there something seriously wrong with me?
Being John Malkovich was great, and I love Spike Jones, but the trailer to this movie did not catch my eye as something interesting. Maybe I took too many stupid pills that day? Hmm.
