Powell had a tapestry copy of Pablo Picasso's famous Guernica fresco covered when he went to the U.N. Security Council. For my part in the weekend worldwide anti-war protest I think I'll post this picture because it shows the misery, death, and stupidity of war - something the administration has not been honest about. They depict the Iraqi invasion as something that will be sterile and swift. If that's not a lie, it certainly shows the wishful blindness of the Bush administration.

Too bad Powell had this picture covered, it depicts the misery of war pretty well. War is never quick and clean, one side will always have casualties. And the casualties are never limited to the soldiers, many innocent civilians are killed. Let's not forget about the people who suffer, war always brings suffering. It doesn't matter which side loses, everyone involved is affected. Hopefully the administration will wake up and listen to the U.N., there's always a better way to resolve issues than by going to war.
