a Sun a Dog and a Rat in Berkeley

I feel hot, in Berkeley, in March. It's been amazingly sunny and pleasant here lately. Outside, the shadows are deep and sharp and the colors have their contrast turned up a few notches.

Happily walking to campus today, to toss the frisbee with Shaw Pong, I ran into this odd pair along Telegraph Avenue.

It goes to show that nothing is alien when you live here.

How can you not like this place?

Actually, some people (whose name starts with an 'I') would look at this as two rats!

Hey, only some dogs look like rodents to me. Chihuahuas are an example. This one looks alright...although, I think it's giving me the evil eye. Btw, anyone seen the preview for that movie "Willard"? My god, it scares the crap out of me.

I agree with you Teddy, how indeed can anyone dislike this place? It's not just the weather that's attractive, it's the people and the history. It has a very rich and cohesive community that I feel many places lack. I feel lucky living here.

I totally agree with the chihuahuas looking like large rodents to me, why do people love them so much? My grandmother has one of those dogs and it's the pesky-ist dog she's ever had. Very nervous too, always barking and never sitting still...

I loved living in Berkeley and going to school there, it was a fabulous place to learn and meet a bunch of different folks. But I do know a few people who did not like the place, a couple reasons why are in the picture (by the way, nice picture, you must have a cool camera!).
