The conference I was going to attend in Seattle was cancelled. But that might've been a blessing. The weather for one, was nicer than expected. Mt. Rainer could be clearly seen in full view. That doesn't mean it didn't rain, but the light drizzle that we experienced wasn't even enough to bring out the umbrella.
Lisa and I spent our time visiting the Locks and fish ladder in Ballard. We also visited the Woodland Park Zoo, where we watched a bird of prey show (now I want my own barn and my own barn owl). We also took the obligatory trek to Pike Place Market, where an unsuspecting tourist got startled by an ugly monk fish playing marionette for the local workers, and of course a trip (probably the only of my life) up the Space Needle.
We also ended up staying at the Courtyard Marriot near Union Lake. And would you believe, right next to a Ducati dealer? I was so tempted to test ride a Monster, but left it alone... We also saw a Fiat 500 in very nice condition for sale in a shop on Westlake.
The food in Seattle was great. My favorite was Racha, a Thai place in Queen Anne. I also had the first crumpet of my life -- and liked it. Vickie, Amber, Dave, Lisa and I also stopped by Tia Lu's for some dancing on Saturday night.
Well, that was Seattle...

Seattle was a lot of fun, plus it was sunny while we were there! By the way, this is a pretty nice picture of the Space Needle...
