San Francisco Politics

I got a kick out of this photo that was taken at the Haight fair about a week ago, so I wanted to put it up here.

In SF politics you're not liberal unless you're really, really liberal. Well, Tom Ammiano is really, really, really, liberal. I think we call it progressive populism here and across the bay. I like that about politics in this area. It's never about "should we help homeless" or "should we give equal rights to gays", it's always "what type of help" and "damn right", respectively. There's got to be something counter-balancing the conservative revival in D.C., right?

Nice picture, the photographer is great! Yeah, the politics here should filter over to D.C., but that'll never happen with the Republicans in charge.

Helen:

Nice picture! Did you get an autograph as well? And did you see Willie?
