Wow, I think Autoblog is mighty brave to basically admit that the contest was a sham. Uh...no winners announced? Problems during the last hours? What problems? A search of old posts about the contest shows that.. wait .. they've been wiped clean. You can't comment on the site about the contest and they're keeping quiet. I'm calling the lawyers on this one... Autoblog is affliated with weblog inc and weblog inc is funded my some big shots (I think AOL being among them).
Guess it's time to visit Jalopnik and Edmunds for my automotive news.
update: the post explaining their problems with the contest is also gone.

25 Sep 2005 at 11:05pmIt’s a little past midnight and the window of opportunity to submit entries to the Autoblog iPod Nano + FM Transmitter contest has officially closed. The 110th entry came in at 12:00AM right before the contest ended, and we couldn’t be more grateful that all of you took the time to participate.
All six Autobloggers will be judging the entries over the next few days and we hope to have a winner selected around the middle to the end of this week with the iPod Nano + FM Transmitter airborne and on its way to the winner soon after that.

The Autoblog writers are excited to go over all of the entries, which, after an official count, turns out to be 90. Hopefully we’ll break 100 entries by midnight EST, but even if we don’t this has been a great contest for us and hopefully it was fun for all who entered.

Today is the final day to enter the Autoblog iPod Nano + FM Transmitter contest. We’ve received around 80 or so entries and will keep the comments open on the original post until 12AM Eastern Standard Time. That means you have until midnight tonight to get your entry posted.
If you’re a fan of Autoblog and appreciate what we do here, then enter the contest as much for the site as for the prospect of holding a Nano in your hands next week. Sure the traffic was nice this week, but more than that this contest is helping us learn what kind of posts you like. Armed with that information we can make Autoblog even better.
So get started before it’s too late to enter. It doesn’t take that long and it’s easier than you think. Just go here, and maybe next week you’ll be rockin’ out in your econobox to the audible expressions of your very own iPod Nano + Monster iCarPlay Wireless FM Transmitter.
